Starboard surfaces the best content in your server. When a message collects enough reactions, Kovra re-posts it in a dedicated starboard channel.

Setup

  1. Create a channel like #starboard (or #hall-of-fame).
  2. From Guard → Starboard, enable starboard and pick the channel.
  3. Set the threshold (default: 3 stars).
  4. Pick the emoji (default: , but any custom server emoji works).
That’s it. New messages that reach the threshold get re-posted automatically.

Options

Self-star
boolean
default:"false"
Allow the message author to count their own reaction toward the threshold.
Allow bots
boolean
default:"false"
Let bot messages reach the starboard.
Allow NSFW
boolean
default:"false"
Include messages from channels flagged as NSFW.
Remove on unstar
boolean
default:"true"
If the message drops back below the threshold, remove it from the starboard.
Ignore channels
channel[]
Channels whose messages should never reach the starboard (e.g. #off-topic, #vent).
Ignore roles
role[]
Messages from users with these roles never reach the starboard.

What gets posted

The starboard embed matches the Carl-bot convention:
  • Original author avatar + name
  • Original message content (with markdown preserved)
  • Jump link back to the source message
  • Attachment preview (images, gifs)
  • Star count in the title bar (⭐ 5 | #channel)

Unstarring

If a message drops below the threshold (people remove their star), the starboard post is deleted automatically. Set Remove on unstar to false to keep historical starboard posts forever.

Starboard entries

Dashboard shows every message that made it to the starboard, with star count, source channel, and a jump-to-source link. Useful for curating a “best of” archive or finding content to reshare.
