One monolithic bot with moderation + tickets + leveling would hit Discord’s rate limits faster than a sharded trio, and a single token being compromised would give an attacker access to everything. Three bots = smaller blast radius per incident + clearer per-feature permission scopes. From your side it doesn’t matter — one dashboard controls all three.
No trial, but the free tier is genuinely useful — we ship the best of our moderation stack free (AutoMod, anti-nuke, verification, comprehensive logging). Premium is for bigger caps + Kovra Custom + social alerts. If the free tier doesn’t cover you, Premium will.
Partially. We have a one-click MEE6 importer that brings over XP + leaderboard. Carl-bot and Dyno config (reaction roles, mod history) aren’t directly importable — we’ll add importers if enough users ask.
Not yet. Discord’s subscription API is EU-restricted and doesn’t let us sell to the US cleanly. We run through LemonSqueezy (Merchant of Record) which handles VAT + chargebacks globally. We’ll add Discord App Subs alongside LS when the API surface improves.
  • Message content — not stored by default. Only cached transiently in Redis for AutoMod duplicate-detection (60s TTL).
  • Mod cases — 7 days on Free, 30 days on Premium, indefinite if the server hasn’t been deleted from Kovra.
  • Ticket transcripts — kept indefinitely while the server is active.
  • XP data — kept indefinitely while the server is active.
  • Audit log — 90 days minimum, never deleted while the server is active.
You can request a full data export or deletion from the dashboard Account page (GDPR Article 15 / 17).
All servers in Germany (Hetzner, Frankfurt). Data stays in the EU.
Not currently. Kovra is a hosted service. If self-hosting becomes a common ask we’ll reconsider.
Gateway reconnects are automatic (discord-hybrid-sharding). Worst case: 30–60 seconds of missed events during a deploy. Critical background workers (XP flush, subscription expiry, warn decay, tempban unban) are idempotent and catch up on restart.Status + uptime at status.kovra.xyz.
Not yet. We may open-source parts of it (AutoMod engine, case browser component) once the product stabilizes.

A solo founder based in Germany. Kovra started as a personal replacement for running Carl-bot + Dyno + MEE6 in the same server and grew from there.
